UBER MISSION BAY three AND four

San Francisco, CA

DESCRIPTION

Light that Adapts to People and Place

Uber’s Mission Bay 3 and 4 towers complete a next-generation headquarters designed around connection, flexibility, and well-being. We approached the lighting design as a key layer in shaping this experience, creating an environment that responds intuitively to people, space, and time of day.

Daylight is amplified through carefully integrated, glare-controlled systems that support visual comfort and energy balance throughout the workplace. From open work areas to quiet retreat spaces, lighting shifts in tone and intensity to align with different modes of use, supporting focus, collaboration, and rest.

Moments of warmth and texture define the user experience. Light grazes natural materials, highlights architectural features, and softens shared spaces to create a sense of calm and familiarity. In lounges, café areas, and wellness spaces, decorative fixtures introduce a more residential feel, encouraging pause and connection.

Seamlessly integrated controls allow the environment to adjust in real time, responding to occupancy, daylight, and user preference. The result is a cohesive, human-centered workplace where lighting enhances both performance and experience.
